Report illegal or abusive content

If you find content on Virgil that is illegal, or that breaks our Terms (for example harassment, threats, or sexual content involving minors), email abuse@opossumware.net. Please include a link to the board, what the content is, and why you are reporting it. We review every report and remove content that breaks the law or our Terms.

We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as US law requires. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Copyright (DMCA)

To report content that infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:

Your notice must include:

• your physical or electronic signature;
• identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
• identification of the infringing material and enough information for us to find it (such as the board link);
• your name, address, phone number, and email;
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
• a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
